What is Anamorphic?

In Late 2018, we started using Cinemorph Filters made by Vid-Atlantic. What these filters do is add two effects that you won’t usually see in normal DSLR shooting.

Anamorphic Flares:

  • They create these long streak flares, JJ Abrams often uses them in the modern Star Trek films.

The Bokeh:

  • Another key effect is the stretched vertical backgrounds, when a blurred out background is present (Bokeh), it looks more film like and less digital.

  • the blurred light circles (Bokeh ball effect) are also stretched.
